Join Nationally recognized artist, Hillary Scott for an intimate, 2 day intensive Landscape painting workshop. Hillary's ability to see and simplify the landscape into a sensatively portrayed visual poem is testimony to her remarkable skill and invesment into her craft.
From the studio notes of Hillary Scott:
This is an introduction to my approach to landscape painting. I will discuss the grisaille method and how it helps achieve luminosity in my work.
Day one will include a brief discussion on composition/design/values followed by a grisaille demonstration. Students will then create an underpainting utilizing their own photograph.
Day two I will discuss and demonstrate how I add thin layers of color to the underpainting. I will briefly discuss materials, ie mediums, my color palette, brushes, etc. At the end of the day students will start adding color to their underpainting with individual assistance. At the end of the day we will look at the works in progress as a group and I will answer any questions
